Renovated basement walls

Are you facing a basement renovation? The basement of a house can be used for many things. Some use the basement for storage, utility room, laundry room etc. – others use it for living. With more and more of our customers, we see that the basement is used as a home. And the square meters of the basement can easily be good usable spaces that can be used as, for example, an office, bedroom, etc. If you use your basement for living, it is crucial that it is dry and well ventilated. Many people today have bulk drains made around their house to ensure a dry basement, and many also dig out and sub-fund to get a reasonable ceiling height.

In many basements, the walls are often raw and untreated, but it is actually relatively easy to renovate basement walls and give them a nice touch. It invites you to use the rooms for something else and more than a workshop or bicycle parking.

This week we have, among other things, worked with old basement walls, and here you can see how with a single layer of felt you can completely change the look of the wall.

The walls have been sanded down and have been filled with a diffusion open adhesive mortar. Diffusion-open mortar allows the walls to breathe, which is a crucial element in a basement.

The felt/adhesive mortar can be used on many surfaces and in many rooms. It can also be used outside the house. It comes as standard in the colors gray and white. If you use felt/adhesive mortar on a substrate where there may be a risk of cracking, it is a good idea to use reinforcing mesh in combination with the felt.
